Sunday Sermon – May 5, 2024 – “What Is Your Life?” – James 4:13-17

What Is Your Life?
James 4:13-17
Sunday, May 5, 2024
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
James is writing to Christian people. They know what is right and wrong. But in chapter 4 it appears they have forgotten to include God in planning their futures. We all make plans; it is good to do so. But arrogant planning leaves God out and presumes you will live as long as you want. Humbly surrender your plans to God and watch for His lead.
Sermon in a Sentence: Since we are here only a minute and gone the next, don’t leave God out of your plans.
Two reminders as you live day by day:
4:13-14 Life is Uncertain.
You do not know what tomorrow will bring.
Your life is just a mist.
4:15-17 God Controls the Outcome of Your Plans.
God wants you to know His will.
God is not like a mist.
