Sunday Sermon – EASTER 2025 – “In The Twinkling of An Eye” – 1 Corinthians 15:47-58

In The Twinkling of An Eye
1 Corinthians 15:47-58
April 20, 2025
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
The Christian church at Corinth was confused about the resurrection. As soon as Paul left Corinth things took a turn for the worse in the church. Some people drifted into the church who taught that there was no such thing as a resurrection from the dead. Atheism also rejects the possibility of any supernatural power able to bring the dead back to life. But the Bible proves that on the third day after Jesus was buried, He walked out of His grave. For those who will place all their trust in Him, God promises the same miracle. God will give every Christian a body fitted for eternal life. Stand firm in God’s promise.
Sermon Idea: God will give every Christian a body fitted for eternal life. Stand firm in God’s promise.
15:47-49 The Man of Dust and The Man of Heaven
There are two types of people in the world, earthly and spiritual.
Adam and Jesus are representatives of those who belong to them.
15:50-57 The Mystery and the Victory
Paul provides answers about the rapture.
What will happen to people who are alive at the return of Jesus?
15:58 The Meaning of New Life in Christ
These are practical directives about how to live in the meantime.
If you do not have a church home, consider First Alba where you will find encouragement and connection.
