Authentic Fatherhood, God’s Perspective

It is not a stretch to see and hear the parental language in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2. Not only was the apostle Paul a pastor/teacher to his churches, he considered himself a father to them as well. To prove my point, notice the phrases “like a nursing mother” in v7, and “like a father with his children” in v11.
Sermon in a Sentence: The world is watching for an authentic father; walk in a manner worthy of God.
Here are three features of an authentic father from God’s perspective:
- An authentic father is committed to stay in the life of his children 2:8
He is not a drop-in and drop-out dad-
2. An authentic father is a man of integrity in front of his children 2:10
His religion is pure-
- An authentic father tenderly teaches his children to live for God 2:11-12
The disturbing results are in. For every one positive word in the home, there are ten negative ones-
