A Lavish Feast for the Faithful
Isaiah 25

Isaiah chapters 24-27 have been called The Little Apocalypse because they deal with the events coming at the end. Isaiah 25 is a song expressing the faithful’s confidence in God. In the ancient world mountains were believed to be the homes of gods. This chapter promises that only the mountain of God will be left standing in the end. In other words, God is greater than all the pagan gods. We are led to sing along with the faithful across the world in praise to God who has done wonderful things.
God Has Done Wonderful Things-Things Only God Can Do 25:1-3
This is a personal declaration of commitment.
God is a Defender of the Poor and Needy 25:4-5
These people represent those who are the direct opposite of the powerful and prideful.
God’s Benefits for Those Persevere to the End 25:6-9
Here are provisions and protections that only God can exercise.
Sermon Idea: God provides an escape from death for anyone who waits faithfully to the end.
