Asleep in the Dust
Daniel 12:1-4
Sunday, February 13, 2022
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
Throughout his life in Babylon, Daniel never lost hope in the promises of God. By the time we get to Daniel 12 we are listening to a wise 80-year-old Daniel who is engaged in a prophetic conversation with the angel Gabriel.
Gabriel’s message includes four groups of people then and now:
12:1 Those Whose Name is in the Book
The prophecy sets the mood of the message; hope awaits the faithful!
12:2 Those Who Sleep in the Dust
This verse allows us to draw several conclusions about our
resurrection.
12:3 Those Who Are Wise
Be wise and inspire others to trust in the Messiah, Christ.
12:4 Those Who Run to and Fro
As the end approaches, some will run this way and that way away from God. Others will seek to know more and more about Him.
Sermon in a Sentence: Don’t lose hope; God rescues those whose faith lasts under pressure.
