I Have Seen Jesus
John 20:1-18
June 15, 2025
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
This chapter records for us the empty tomb of Jesus and His appearance to His own followers. John’s purpose in these opening verses is to show us that Jesus rose from the dead; His body was not stolen. John has gone to considerable trouble to highlight two disciples, John and Mary, in the first eighteen verses. John is “the one whom Jesus loved” and Mary is the woman from Magdala delivered from seven demons. John believes without seeing and Mary believes by hearing.
Sermon Idea: Death has been destroyed; Jesus is alive. Listen for His voice and follow Him.
