The Moment Has Come
John 12:17-33

John records that Jesus is now in Jerusalem in chapter 12. The large crowds that followed Jesus make the Pharisees nervous. Where did these large crowds come from? They were witnesses to the raising of Lazarus from the dead. It becomes clear to Jesus that the moment has come. He does not hide His humanity, rather He agonizes over what lies ahead of Him. In resolute commitment, Jesus brings fame to God.
Sermon in a Sentence: The moment has come. Reset your bearings and draw near to Christ.
Two challenges for all those who are drawn to Christ:
12:17-26 Espouse the Paradigm to Inherit Eternal Life
The antidote to the poisonous prosperity Gospel:
We may have to pay the ultimate cost,
but we will receive the ultimate honor.
12:27-33 Embrace the Passion of the Christ
Two great benefits when Christ was lifted up:
The Devil was driven out.
The Lost are drawing near.
