The subject of this one verse is the word of God. Paul begins the verse by expressing his supreme and profound gratitude to God for how the church at Thessalonica responded to His word. They heard Paul’s preaching, they accepted his claim, and they believed what God was saying to them. As a result of their faith the word of God went to work inside of them. This pattern for true faith and conversion still serves as the premier paradigm for life transformation today.
Sermon Idea: The Word of God has supernatural power to change our lives. Let it go to work in you.
