Remembering that Hebrews is a sermon, we now notice the preacher moves to his life application. The remaining chapters of Hebrews call us to the kitchen table for a family meeting. Life Application underscores the practical ways the Christian will carry out the commands of the sermon. There are three in today’s text. If we want to avoid the discipline that the Israelites received from God in the desert, then we must press on to maturity. I think these obligations are The Road to Reward.

Sermon in a Sentence: Since Jesus has pioneered an open invitation to God, don’t neglect your obligations to Him.

There are three obligations of every Christian who wants to move on to maturity:
