In Malachi 1 God expresses His weariness with the Israelite’s entire worship event. They were not giving God their best worship. So, God reminds them five times that His name is great and must be feared by Israel. In Malachi 2 God uses Malachi to speak to the priests of Israel. They were pitiful priests who fudged on worship. Don’t forget that on this side of the cross, Jesus has made us all a priesthood of believers. God is highly offended when we fudge on worship. Let His warning deeply motivate you.

2:1-4 God Warns Us About How Serious He Takes Our Worship
Let God’s words deeply affect your worship or:
He will send the curse.
He will rebuke your offspring.
He will spread dung on your face.
2:5-7 God Reminds Us What A Faithful Leader Looks Like
