The Ascension of Christ is the crowning act of Jesus’ sacrifice. He has blessed us and we return to our place of worship Sunday after Sunday with joy blessing Him in return. When Jesus ascended the Holy Spirit descended just as God planned it. Now we have power to persevere until His return.
This is the way God wants us to read to His Gospel, from start to finish! Thank you for being so patient and persevering to the end of Luke. This is why you are the best people to pastor!
Sermon in a Sentence: Ascended and seated on His throne, Jesus has accomplished His work. Persevere until He returns.
Three facts related to the Ascension of Jesus:
1. Jesus ascends on a cloud to a place and a position Acts 1:9
To a place called Heaven.
To a position on a Throne, Revelation 5:11-13.
2. The Holy Spirit descends on God’s people empowering them for ministry Acts 1:8
Acts 1:5 this is the first baptism in the Holy Spirit.
This event happened at your salvation.
3. God has fixed a day for Jesus to come back and get us Acts 1:11
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
At the Return of Christ, we will be carried away on a cloud.
