What Good News Does to Some People
Luke 22:54-65, 23:6-25
Sunday, September 4, 2022
Dr. Kelly B. Burton

Remember, we are in the Passion narrative of Luke’s gospel. Luke moves quickly to the cross scene because that is just the way it went down. Jesus’ enemies expedited Him through their ludicrous legal system. The Good News does some strange things to some people.

Sermon in a Sentence: God supplies the strength you need; face your struggles in silent submission to Him.

Denial 22:54-62

Christ does not want ____________-filled followers,

He is looking for _____________-filled followers.

Mockery 22:63-65

What is not so obvious here? The _____________ of Jesus.

Curiosity 23:1-16

This is not Herod’s first rodeo with a preacher.

Irony 23:18-25

The ________________ man goes free, the _________________ man suffers.
