A Meal to Remember
Luke 22:14-30
Sunday, August 28, 2022
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
The Gospel writers all agree that Jesus spent His last hours before His arrest with His disciples. It was an emotional meal, an intimate meal, and an expensive meal representing the death of Christ. When you take the Supper remember His sacrifice, recognize your weaknesses, and relish in the communion you have with Christ and His Church.
Sermon in a Sentence: Christ gave His life for yours. Take His offer and relish in communion with Him and each other.
22:14-20 Sacrifice
“This is My body given for you.”
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood.”
22:21-23 Treachery
“Then Satan entered into Judas.” 22:3
Not one of us is exempt from this temptation.
22:28-30 Inheritance
What is the condition to the inheritance? V28.
We will rule with Christ, and we will judge angels (Rev 5, and 1 Co. 6:3).
