Sermon in a Sentence Those who are all wrapped up in Christ have the Holy Spirit to help them; join God’s family.

Two incentives for the Christian

to live a godly life:

1. 8:9-11 The Spirit uniquely empowers you to fight against sin and overcome death!

Did you notice the Trinity neatly pressed into v11?

The Spirit is mentioned 15 times in these 17 verses; 20 times in Ch 8 alone!

2. 8:12-17 In times of adversity the Holy Spirit reminds you God is your protecting,

powerful Father.

The same blessings and promises made to Israel will be inherited by all God’s sons and daughters.

Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?”
