Extravagant Love!
Ephesians 1:1-14
Sunday, July 2, 2023
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
Ephesians is regarded as the most influential document on Christian thought and spirituality. The author is Paul, writing from prison in Rome (Acts 28). There were no problems in the church, but the amount of Christian doctrine tells me he may be writing to combat some false teaching creeping around the city. In these first fourteen verses, Paul writes with such passion that he pens two hundred and two words in one sentence! From beginning to end God lavishes His extravagant love on us. Grow with each other in humility and patience.
Sermon in a Sentence: From beginning to end God lavishes His extravagant love on us. Grow with each other in humility and patience.

He blessed us, He chose us, He destined us.
7-12 The Son Lavished God’s Grace Upon Us
He redeemed us, He enlightens us.
13-14 The Spirit Sealed Us as God’s Very Own
He protects us, He keeps us to the very end.
