An Excellent Model of Christian Ministry
Colossians 1:24-29

In these six verses, Paul is moved by the Holy Spirit to expose his ethos, or his trustworthy character, to the Colossians. He is unlike the other orators in the region of Laodicea, Hierapolis, and Colossae. In fact, Paul goes on to show us four marks of an excellent Christian ministry. We should pay close attention to these marks and aim high to model them at FBC Alba.
Sermon Idea: It requires hard work and suffering to be an excellent church. But Jesus will supply the energy when we need it.
Here are four marks of an excellent Christian ministry:
1. A God-Called Pastor 1:25
Paul underscores two privileges of his Christian ministry.
2. God-Chosen Saints 1:25-26
The chosen saints are where God decided to disclose His Gospel.
3. A Gospel-Centered Mission v28
Here are two ways the church proclaims the Gospel: Warning and Teaching.
4. A God-Energized Ministry v29
The word “toil” means to the point of exhaustion. But Christ in you will energize you to do what He asks of you.
