The Throne of Grace
Hebrews 4:11-16
April 13, 2025
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
Last week I showed you three warnings to the Hebrew Christians, the recipients of the Hebrews letter. In chapter 4 the author continues to urge his readers to strive to enter our Sabbath rest. What is that? It means the rest God promised His people, the same rest He is enjoying now. He ceased from His creation work and is resting. So, when His people complete their service to Him and His Church, they too will enter together into God’s Sabbath rest. It will not be easy getting there, so God has made two provisions for us: to listen to His Word that reveals lurking doubt and unbelief, and to draw near to Jesus who wants to help us.
Sermon Idea: Jesus understands your struggles and wants to help. Confidently go to His throne of grace.
Two provisions from God to help us to enter His Sabbath rest:
